November, December (before it's over)

A quick run down of what has been going on the month of December....WAIT!
I need to catch up on November:
Thanksgiving was great.  We spent the holiday at my parents in the COLD weather.  Terrible mother though.....took ZERO pictures!  Had some nice turkey and dressing at Mom's house on Thanksgiving day, took Madeline to see her first movie Tangled on Friday, and then headed to Arlington to watch some Cooper Cougar football on Saturday.  The movie was great...Madeline asked when it was going to be over only AFTER she finished her popcorn, drink and candy.  Note to self...keep her eating and she will sit the entire time!
Roan pretty much played, ate and slept...the story of his life right now!

Now on to December.
My niece Claire has been down from Greenville, Mississippi the month of December.  Madeline has enjoyed spending lots of time with her.  She even got to go to school with Madeline for 2 days and they both loved it!  One afternoon we decorated a gingerbread house....the girls did such a good job and to my surprise...NO FIGHTING!  YEAH GIRLS!  They tend to be a bit bossy to each other and end up in some sort of a quarrel but work it out pretty good themselves UNLESS they are tired....and then .....oh the fun!
A little decorating fun.

TA DA....the finished product!

Just couldn't wait to take the SILLY picture!

At dance Madeline's class did a performance of the sugar plum fairy.  Mimi, Poppy and Claire were able to come for that as well....Daddy even made it in the nick of time...WHEW!
Side note- this performance was a total of about 4 minutes but you would have thought it was the end recital the way parents (including myself) were so proud of their child.  I was so excited for her....so much fun and they did a GREAT job.
After the teeny tiny recital.

Mt. Calvary Preschool Christmas Program - December 17, 2010
This year the school acted out the nativity....oh they were so cute!  Madeline's class sang 3 songs and she did excellent.  You would never guess her first comment to us after the program.......
"Mom I didn't pick my nose!"  Yes Madeline we are so proud of you for not doing that!
This was taken before we left for school...the 2 loves of my life!
So nicely walking down the aisle.
 Quietly watching.

More to come as Christmas approaches in 2 days!!!  I just can't wait to see the kids faces when Santa comes and they open gifts.  It has been fun keeping both of them from ripping into the paper now.  Madeline asks every time there is a Christmas show on TV (which is ALL the shows) if she can open a gift because the TV has Christmas day!  Smart girl...but not yet Madeline!

Totsy

Just a little FYI.......I am in L-O-V-E the website Totsy!  It has great deals on unique and cute kids clothes AND deals on fashions for MOM!  If you get a chance, check it out.  Have gotten some cute stuff for Christmas from it....toys, clothes, etc.  Happy Friday!

Halloween 2010

As promised...Halloween Pictures!  I am taking advantage of the ability to choose the kids costumes while I can.  I know soon Madeline will voice her opinion on what she wants to dress up as and not take my advice on what she "should" be.  So this year we went with the Wizard of Oz theme.  Roan could not have fit the Cowardly Lion character any better.  His face was just so perfectly round for that sweet lion look.  Madeline did wonderful as Dorothy, despite the minor tantrums she threw of the red ruby slippers slipping off her feet.

Perfect Example....not so happy

 Loving it now!

Madeline also went to the Austin Dog Show Halloween weekend and got to dress up then as well.  All of Itsy Bitsy Norwich Terriers were Wizard of Oz themed.

They grow

Seems Roan is growing so much faster than Madeline did.  Now I know he isn't but it swear he was just a small baby yesterday.  How I love both of my babies so much!  I will add Halloween pictures soon..PROMISE!

HAIRCUT!

A bit late but Roan did get his first haircut shortly after his first birthday.  It pained me to do it because I knew he wouldn't look like my baby anymore but Joseph said "enough is enough Kari, he looks like a girl!" So with those words in mind, I sent him with Dad to get his first haircut.  He looks so handsome now but his oh so cute curls are gone.  He has officially turned into a toddler with cut.

He sat like a big boy for a bit

Then he got the "hold down" from Dad

Thanks Miss Nikki for a great job!

1st Birthday!

I truly can't believe that Roan is already a year old.  I feel like it was just yesterday that I held him for the first time.  He has been a joy to our life more than words can say.  My heart melts each time he smiles and weeps that time is going so fast.  I still wake at night and watch him sleep because I know it will all be over before we know it. I love to hear him talk to himself in the mornings before he is ready to get up, that sweet voice having a conversation with his animals.  He is so calm, sweet, and quiet.  Happy Birthday Baby Boy!

We had a Cowboy birthday party for him and I had a friend Joely Rodgers, who just happens to be a photographer, capture the moments.

Our neighbor Colt
Old Oma was able to come to the party and I am so happy she did.

 Madeline and our neighbor Jena
Elijah - this was his first birthday to attend.

 Mimi enjoying the party.
Unfortunately, Joseph didn't make it into a single picture.  He was either visiting or videoing the entire party but says he will for sure make it into a picture at his 2nd birthday!  I enjoyed planning every minute of the party, although I cried a few times in the process, it was a huge success.  Now to start thinking of the next party
