Catching Up

How many times have I said, I have been so busy I haven't had time to post.  Well, I'm going to say it again, I have been so busy I haven't had time to post and I haven't downloaded any pictures from the camera so that will come this weekend.  I will have lots to post after Saturday.  LaGrange actually got snow on Tuesday and Madeline had fun playing in it, what little there was on the ground.  The most enjoyment she got was from trying to catch the flakes in her mouth...I have a great picture!  Not enough snow to make a snowman but enough to have fun in.
The morning temper tantrums have subsided....thank you dear Jesus!  We have actually had very enjoyable mornings, Madeline feeds Roan his bottle while I start the car and get things together.....NO she doesn't hold him...he is on the floor buckled up in his carseat while she is feeding him.  The fish is still alive...OH Yeah...didn't think Nemo would last this long.
Roan is growing so fast.  He was 5 months old last week.....oh how fast time flies!  He can now sit in his highchair, with a little help from a towel or 2 on the bottom to boost him up a bit to reach.  He is getting better at sitting on his own.  Poor thing weighs so much that he is having a hard time supporting his own belly weight while sitting up.  He does, however, roll around like a little rolie polie in his crib and on the floor.  I woke up this morning and found him at the complete opposite end of the crib from where I left him...and ON HIS STOMACH!  I have quickly gotten over the SIDS fear b/c he will make his way to his belly ASAP when you lay him down, so I know he will be fine!
We have a busy weekend ahead.  Going to Round Rock on Saturday morning to watch Aaron's baseball team in a tournament. Madeline has a birthday party to attend on Saturday afternoon.  She needs to work with Teaspoon a little before the show in Houston. Madeline's 3rd birthday party is next weekend so I need to start getting ready for that.....and then amongst all that....find some time to have a little relaxation (aka...NAP)!  Hope you enjoy your day!

SNOW, SNOW, SNOW!

We went to Dallas this past weekend to see my family and attend a wedding shower for my cousin.  We came in on Friday and it ahs snowed the Thursday before.  Joseph and I had been telling Madeline all about the snow and that we hoped it would still be there on Saturday morning when we got up b/c we wanted to make a snowman.  Well it was our luck....there was still lots of it and Madeline had a blast.  Enjoy the snow day pictures!
The finished product.  I will say Madeline was upset that we didn't have a carrot for his nose.
She also couldn't wait to make a snow angel...and I L-O-V-E-D watching her make one.
Not too bad of an angel!

I just LOVE this picture of Roan and my father...see any resemblance??????
He just sat quietly and had coffee with the Roan men (my father, Papa, and Uncle Ronny)....so fun to see!
We had such a great time and can't wait to return on March 12 to get ready for Katie's wedding on the 13th!

A Thursday Night

I haven't had a chance to post this from Wednesday.  Madeline had PINK day at school and decided to take her pink kitty that is named "berkly"....I didn't know it had a name but apparently I was wrong.  I usually take the pictures before we go to school in the mornings but on Wednesday, I just plain forgot and had to take it when we got home.  Please note that I do not send my child to school with stains on her shirt and her hair looking a mess - this happens throughout her fun filled day at Pre-K!  She must of really had fun b/c look at that crazy hair!

Madeline also got a new pair of boots and just LOVES them.  She had to put them on directly after her bath last night....in her words - "I need my fancy cowgirl boots on"
I think she looks great in them...and love to listen to her walk (run) around the house with them on.  They were purchased for her b/c she will be making her miniature donkey showing debut at the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo in March.  I CAN"T WAIT to see her out there in the full outfit.  You will have to wait until March 19th to see pictures of that.  We are going to have so much fun!
And my boys are just relaxing watching ESPN while Madeline runs around like a crazy girl.
I wish I could be this calm all the time!

Not sure if you noticed in the first picture Madeline's oh so nude Barbies.  If you didn't, here is a close up.
I am not sure what it is about Barbie clothes that Madeline doesn't like but the minute she gets a new one..it is naked - with clothes never to return to her body!  My mother and I have tried to get her to put new clothes on the Barbies, LEAVE clothes on the Barbies, and play dress up with the Barbies, but is just isn't happening!  So we will, I am afraid, forever have nude crazy hair Barbies in our house.  The funny thing is, one of them has brown hair and that nude Barbie is her "Keathley" Barbie...Madeline loves her Keathley and Aaron....guess we need to get a Ken!
We are heading to Dallas today for a wedding shower for my cousin who is getting married in March....can't wait to see all my family.  Just hoping this record snowfall in Dallas doesn't keep us from it!  Have a great weekend!

Oh, the Mornings!

I really think that I just might need to be on medication or in a coo-coo house for about a week to help me get through the trying mornings with my sweet child Madeline.  I have officially reached my "wits end".  Now before I go into this blog please remember that I LOVE MY DAUGHTER but at times she can be TERRIBLE.  We have known for awhile that she loves to be the center of attention and that she wants everything HER way (i'm sure she doesn't get that from me..he he), and can be very manipulative - but here lately she has been on a rampage.  My life it the mornings is nothing less than a category 5 hurricane.
To make a L-O-N-G story short, we have a knock down, drag out argument/fit/tantrum every morning for some reason or another.  Yesterday she wanted to drink some "lemonade" BEFORE she got dressed but we don't do that...we have to get dressed FIRST and she didn't like that so she proceeded to throw a fit.  Today she wanted Cheerios and NOT  square cereal (Chex) but we are out of Cheerios and she proceeded to throw a fit, crushing the cereal, throwing blankets, screaming, crying ( I had to give her a nice bottom busting and put her in her room).  These are not little fits, these are full blown terrible 2 fits and I have had
E-N-O-U-G-H!  We battle it out EVERY morning and I think I am about to have a mental breakdown.  I have sent her to school every morning with a RED face, puffy eyes, and an attitude b/c of her fits.  AAAHHHH!
This is a picture of her grumpy self eating applesauce b/c she didn't get cheerios.

And my sweet Roan just sits and listens to it all without a complaint one.  You can tell he is thinking, must we do this E-V-E-R-Y morning.

If only we could all be as happy as him.  I hope you have a better day that I have had this morning.....blessings to all!
